The Society is a member of the Federation of Local History Societies

Founded in 2006 with an inaugural lecture 'The Humours of Donnybrook'

by Dr Séamus Ó Maitiú.

The aim of the voluntarily organised Ballsbridge, Donnybrook and Sandymount Historical Society is to arrange lectures and events and to foster an interest in the local history of the neighbourhoods. The society continues to do so producing, for a few years, a published annual record and providing online lectures during the lockdown periods of Covid. Some of these recorded lectures are still available on this website on the archive page.
